Responsive Community Engagement

• Conducted open forums for parents to voice their questions, priorities and concerns directly to the BOE and school administrators.
• Added Public Comment to all Board and Committee meetings
• Encouraged direct communication between parents and BOE members

Fostered Academic Excellence

• We kept our schools open during COVID
• Worked closely and proactively with school administration through the Curriculum and Policy committees to provide proper oversight
• Norton School Blue Ribbon Award recipient
• 2022 recipient of CABE Leadership Award from the CT Association of Boards of Education
• Continued growth in student achievement as measured by the Smarter Balanced Assessment and Next generation Science standards
• Successful passage of Next Generation Schools Initiative

Advocated for Cheshire’s parents, students and taxpayers

• Instituted BOE Legislative Committee (State level)
• Continually Informed Cheshire’s legislative representatives of our priorities and challenges
• Provided ongoing feedback and testimony on legislation that impacted our schools
• Engaged in a thorough review of the school budgets and ensured fiscal responsibility
