Sylvia Nichols

Since 2010:

I have been an objective and collaborative voice on the Town Council as an advocate for fiscally responsible management while understanding the growing and changing needs of Cheshire. Openminded, my decisions are based on fact and resident input.

Current:

I continue to support:

* careful, planned economic growth to increase our grand list
* strategic fiscal planning for capital improvements
*continuing services for our aging residents and our veterans
*planned and strategic maintenance of town infrastructure
* sound improvements to our aging schools to update the safety and learning environment for our students.
* Police, Fire and Human Service to protect and serve our residents
* Town recreational opportunity

Who Am I?

Cheshire has been my hometown for 55 years. I raised my family here, and operated a successful retail business in Cheshire which employed more than150 Cheshire residents for over 25 + years. Active in the business community as a Former Chamber of Commerce President, I recognize the importance of small business, understand their needs and the challenges of managing both personal and business budgets. I hold a BS in Special education, and am a nationally recognized educator in the Floral industry. A longtime, Cheshire cheerleader, I am committed to seeing Cheshire continue to evolve, grow and remain current in today’s world, while keeping our town an affordable, spirited and supportive community.
