John Milone - Town Council At Large
I am very proud to be running as a Republican candidate for Cheshire Town Council at Large. Over the past 35 years, I have had the good fortune to have raised my four children while also building a successful business here. For me, this is an opportunity to give back to our community.
I am committed to thoughtful and balanced leadership; fiscal responsibility; public safety; quality education and schools, parks, and public spaces; economic growth; and above all, respect for everyone. If elected, I will listen to you and maintain an open and honest approach to problem solving to pursue the delicate balance between fiscal responsibility and quality of life in our community.
Personal Background
I come from a very modest upbringing, where my father, a police officer, and my mother, a working mom (somewhat unusual in the 50s and 60s), instilled in my sisters and me a strong sense of appreciation for being born in this great country, a consistent reminder of our responsibility to others and a strong work ethic. Both of my parents and my three sisters, all of whom pursued careers in either education and/or healthcare, had such an important influence on my belief system. We were always taught to be respectful and accepting of all people, a life foundation that I am so grateful for.
Professional Background
I pursued a career as a Professional Engineer and in 1984 I co-founded Milone & MacBroom, Inc., which grew to be one of the most well-regarded engineering, planning, landscape architectural, and environmental design firms in the Northeast. Based in Cheshire, with regional offices throughout New England and New York, we grew the firm to about 185 employees before merging into a global consultancy known as SLR International Corporation in 2020. We still maintain our offices in Cheshire where I continue to work as our US Sector Leader for Built Environment and oversee our Mergers and Acquisitions Team for the United States.
