2022 Congressional and State Elections

On 12/7/2021 George met with the Cheshire RTC. It quickly became clear that he has a long history of community engagement coupled with a wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors.

Adam Grippo (RTC Chairman) summed it up perfectly when he said that "George understands what good government should be and he will be an excellent representative for the 5th district."

Mr. Logan recently completed two terms (2017-2021) as State Senator representing the 17th District, which includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Hamden, Naugatuck and Woodbridge. As a legislator, he worked his way up to Assistant Senate Republican Leader; Co-Chair of the Planning & Development Committee; Vice-Chair of the Public Health and Veterans Committees; Ranking member of the Human Services Committee; member of Education, Regulations Review and Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committees.

Currently, George S. Logan is the Director of Community Relations at Aquarion Water Company. He was trained as an engineer. He is a businessman by profession. During his time in public service as a State Senator, George S. Logan stressed the state’s need to retain and attract young skilled workers, professionals --and to create a business-friendly environment. Mr. Logan believes that the budgeting process starts “with the simple concept that we stop spending more than we take in.” He believes action is immediately needed to make Connecticut affordable for individuals, families and businesses by reducing burdensome regulations and putting a stop to further tax increases.

Mr. Logan has spent most of his professional life working through the ranks of the largest private water utility in the state – Aquarion Water Company – where he learned every aspect of providing clean drinking water to customers. During this time, Mr. Logan delivered on many capital/construction projects, engaged in sustainability programs, alternative energy programs, watershed maintenance, environmental compliance, natural resources management, community and government relations. At each stage of responsibility, Mr. Logan earned the trust of water customers, contractors, technical consultants, local officials, environmental organizations, property owners, government officials and businesses.

George S. Logan has devoted his spare time to various community-based causes that have improved the quality of life for thousands of families throughout Connecticut. Offering his experience and volunteer time is an essential part of his life, including serving for 5 years as a girls’ basketball coach, as a board member for Griffin Hospital, Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, Housatonic Valley Association, Junior Achievement, Bhcare, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and Notre Dame High School.

In 2017, Mr. Logan was selected by the Connecticut Alliance of YMCAs to receive the organization’s Legislative Champion Award. Also in 2017, Sen. Logan was presented with the George Bellinger Corporate Award by the Greater Bridgeport NAACP. The award recognizes “leadership in diversity and inclusion with a focus on community outreach and professional development.”

George S. Logan graduated from Notre Dame High School in West Haven (1987), earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Trinity College (1991) and earned a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport (1995).

Mr. Logan’s family includes his wife, Lisa-a Registered Nurse for the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services; his son Hunter-a recent graduate of Emerson College (Class of 2021) in Boston-MA; and daughter Tracey-a Junior at Iona College in New Rochelle-NY.
